Florida Hospital Flagler also offers a Cardiac Wellness & Rehabilitation Program for those patients who are
recovering from a recent cardiac event. Cardiac Rehabilitation is a professionally supervised program to help people recover from heart attacks, heart surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures such as stenting and angioplasty. Cardiac Rehabilitation staff, which include a registered nurse and exercise physiologist, lead participants through a personalized exercise program designed for their specific heart problems. Heart patients are carefully monitored throughout the one-hour exercise sessions, which focus on cardiovascular health, muscular strength and flexibility. Extensive education on heart disease is also provided and includes information on how to reduce risk factors, eat right, control blood pressure, and understand the signs and symptoms of a heart attack or stroke.
