New Health Information Management Director at

Florida Hospital Flagler

 

 

Yvette Jones is the new Health Information Management (HIM) Director. The HIM department at Florida Hospital Flagler manages all of the hospital’s patient medical records.  Yvette will also serve as the local Corporate Compliance and Security Officer. In her new role, Yvette will focus on providing operational oversight of coding and transcription services and direct coordination of the medical records and corporate compliance functions. In addition, she will facilitate the hospital and medical staff committee meetings to ensure continued adherence to standards prescribed by The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

 

The director position was established as a part of Florida Hospital Flagler’s split from Florida Hospital Memorial System and the focus will be on providing operational oversight of coding and transcription services and direct coordination of the medical records and corporate compliance functions.

 

Yvette graduated from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management and holds a Masters in Health Administration degree from Webster University in Jacksonville.  Prior to her new role at Florida Hospital Flagler, she managed the HIM departments in Green Cove Springs and Ocala for Kindred Hospital North Florida for the past five years.  Prior to her role at Kindred Hospital North Florida, Yvette served as the Health Information Director/Privacy Officer at Palatka Health Care Center.  In addition to her full-time role, Yvette is an Adjunct Instructor at St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, teaching classes in Medical Terminology and Healthcare Delivery Systems.  Yvette has been RHIA certified by the American Health Information Association since 1999.
