Florida Hospital HospiceCare Goes High-Tech

Florida Hospital HospiceCare has implemented Horizon Homecare, an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system that will allow the entire HospiceCare team to integrate and share clinical and administrative data. 

Clinical staff members will use portable, state-of-the-art computers, increasing Florida Hospital HospiceCare’s documentation and communication capabilities. Each member of the HospiceCare team can easily access patient information to help make accurate decisions regarding patient care and treatment. With this new system, HospiceCare physicians can instantly see an accurate picture of patients’ medications, pain levels, and other clinical information  to help accurately dose and treat pain, as well as further direct  treatment plans.

“This new computer system is of significant importance,” said Scott Baker, Assistant Director of Operations for Florida Hospital HospiceCare.  “We can now provide faster, better service to our patients, as well as comply with future State and Federal documentation regulations.”
